My own spin on Growltiger, a fictional character from T.S Elliot's Old Possum's Book of Practical Cats
As assistant director for the URITP's Fall 2022 production of The Crucible, I carried out a lot of notetaking and observation as I had to stay on the same wavelength as the director. It also entailed plenty of research and writing about the historical background of the Crucible (covering aspects of 17th Century Salem such as racism and religious fanaticism), and about Arthur Miller’s (the playwright) own life and works. As a result, I not only learnt much more about dramaturgical elements but also had the pleasure of working with an amazing behind-the-scenes and onstage crew.
